Samsung Washer LO / FL — Door lock failure
Samsung Washer · Error code LO
What LO Means
The control board commanded the door lock but did not receive confirmation that it engaged (or it won't release). Often a wiring/lock problem rather than a stuck door.
Symptoms
- Door won't unlock at end of cycle
- Cycle stops early with LO or FL
- Clicking from door area but no latch
Common Causes
Most common — solenoid burns out or microswitch contacts fail.
Chafed wires between door lock and main control.
PCB no longer drives the lock circuit correctly.
How to Fix It
- Unplug the washer or trip the breaker for 5 minutes — the lock often releases on power-down.
- If the door is still locked, drain the tub via the front filter before forcing it open.
- Remove the top panel and check the door lock harness for damage or loose connectors.
- Test continuity across the door lock terminals per the tech sheet — replace lock if out of spec.
- If a new lock and intact wiring don't fix LO/FL, replace the main control board.
