Samsung Washer 9E1 / 9E2 / Uc — Line voltage / power supply error

Samsung Washer · Error code 9E1

What 9E1 Means

Incoming voltage is outside the acceptable range (about 90-130 VAC for US units). The control halts to protect itself and the motor.

Symptoms

  • Random shutdowns mid-cycle
  • 9E1, 9E2, or Uc on display
  • Lights dimming in the house at the same time

Common Causes

1
Shared circuit overload

Washer plugged into a circuit with a high-draw appliance dropping voltage.

2
Bad outlet or extension cord

Loose/charred receptacle, or any extension cord (not allowed).

3
Utility brownout

Low line voltage from the utility, especially during summer peak.

4
Failed main control or noise filter

Internal AC sensing circuit reads wrong.

How to Fix It

  1. Plug the washer directly into a dedicated 120V wall outlet — no extension cord, no power strip.
  2. Measure the receptacle with a multimeter — should be 114-126 VAC under load.
  3. Try a different known-good outlet on a separate circuit.
  4. If 9E1 persists on confirmed-good power, replace the EMI noise filter at the inlet.
  5. If still failing, replace the main control board.
