What E4 Means

The outlet temperature sensor is reading a dead short. The board sees an impossible high temperature and shuts the heat down for safety.

  4. Verify the exhaust vent is clear end-to-end — a blocked vent often pre-cooks the thermistor.
  5. Reassemble, restore power, and run a timed dry to confirm.
  6. If E4 persists, replace the main control board.
