GE Dryer E2F — Exhaust air thermistor failure

GE Dryer · Error code E2F

What E2F Means

The dedicated exhaust-air thermistor used by the Sensor Dry algorithm is out of range. Sensor Dry cycles end early or refuse to start; Timed Dry usually still works.

Symptoms

  • E2F on display
  • Sensor Dry ends in a few minutes with wet clothes
  • Timed Dry works normally
  • Repeated cycle aborts

Common Causes

1
Failed exhaust thermistor

Resistance out of range (open or shorted).

2
Lint coating the sensor

Insulating lint film throws readings off.

3
Loose connector at sensor

Vibration walked the plug off.

4
Failed control board input

ADC channel for exhaust sensor failed.

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug the dryer.
  2. Access the exhaust thermistor on the blower housing.
  3. Wipe lint off the sensor body.
  4. Measure resistance — should be ~10K ohms at room temp.
  5. Replace the thermistor if out of range and reseat the connector.
  6. Reassemble and run a Sensor Dry cycle on a damp load to verify.
