What PS Means

PS indicates the dryer detects an unexpected power source condition — typically the two 120V hot legs of the 240V supply are reversed, neutral and a hot are swapped, or the dryer is being fed from a single 120V leg.

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug the dryer and turn off the breaker before touching the terminal block.
  2. Remove the terminal cover on the back of the dryer and verify wiring matches the LG installation diagram for a 3-wire or 4-wire cord.
  3. With a multimeter, confirm the outlet reads ~240V between L1 and L2, ~120V from each hot to neutral.
  4. Re-tighten any loose lugs and confirm the neutral/ground jumper is correctly configured for your cord type.
  5. Restore power and verify PS clears; if it returns, have an electrician inspect the branch circuit.
