LG Dryer d80 / d90 / d95 — Exhaust Duct Blocked

LG Dryer · Error code d80

What d80 Means

The d80, d90, and d95 codes report that the exhaust duct is 80%, 90%, or 95% blocked. They are airflow warnings, not a part failure — the dryer is telling you airflow is restricted.

Symptoms

  • Long drying times
  • Clothes still damp at cycle end
  • d80, d90, or d95 on the display

Common Causes

1
Clogged lint filter

A filter that is not cleaned every load chokes airflow.

2
Blocked or long vent run

Lint buildup in the vent hose or wall duct, or a crushed/kinked vent.

3
Blocked exterior vent flap

A stuck or lint-clogged exterior vent hood.

How to Fix It

  1. Clean the lint filter completely (and wash it if it has fabric-softener film).
  2. Disconnect and clean the vent hose behind the dryer.
  3. Clear lint from the full wall-duct run and the exterior vent flap.
  4. Run a cycle — the code should clear once airflow is restored.
