Whirlpool Dishwasher H2O — Cycle Paused, No Water Supply
Whirlpool Dishwasher · Error code H2O
What H2O Means
Informational message on newer Whirlpool models: the cycle has been paused because the dishwasher isn't getting water. Not a hardware fault yet — usually a closed shutoff or kinked line.
Symptoms
- H2O shown on display
- Cycle paused mid-fill
- No water entering tub
Common Causes
Most common — someone closed the valve and forgot.
Braided supply line behind the dishwasher pinched against the cabinet.
Service interruption or main shutoff closed.
How to Fix It
- Open the under-sink water shutoff valve fully.
- Verify water flow at the kitchen sink.
- Pull the dishwasher out far enough to check the fill line for kinks; reroute as needed.
- Close the door and press Start — the dishwasher will resume the cycle.
- If H2O returns with the supply confirmed open, escalate to F6E1 troubleshooting (inlet valve / strainer).
