What AP Means

The dishwasher is broadcasting a Wi-Fi access point for pairing with the SmartThings app. Not a fault — informational.

Symptoms

  • AP on display
  • Cannot start cycle while pairing
  • Wi-Fi LED on

Common Causes

Pairing mode triggered intentionally

User entered SmartThings setup.

Pairing mode triggered accidentally

Long-press on Wi-Fi or Smart Control button.

Failed pairing left it in AP mode

Setup timed out without app completion.

How to Fix It

  1. Complete pairing in the SmartThings app — code clears automatically when network is joined.
  2. If you don't want Wi-Fi, hold the Smart Control button ~3 seconds to exit AP mode.
  3. If exit doesn't work, power off at the breaker for 1 minute and restore.
