LG Microwave TE — Thermistor (temperature sensor) error

LG Microwave · Error code TE

What TE Means

Generic temperature-sensor fault — the thermistor reading is out of valid range (open, shorted, or wildly drifting). Sensor cooking is disabled.

Symptoms

  • TE on display
  • Auto Cook / Sensor Cook fails
  • Sometimes appears only on hot restarts

Common Causes

1
Failed thermistor

Most common cause.

2
Connector issues

Plug loose or corroded.

3
Harness damage

Wire chafed against cavity wall.

4
Main board sensor input failed

PCB-level fault.

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug 60 seconds, retest.
  2. Let the microwave cool fully before retesting.
  3. Measure thermistor resistance at room temperature; should be roughly 10K ohms.
  4. Inspect and reseat the connector.
  5. Replace thermistor if out of spec; if good, replace main PCB.
