What E43 Means

Control lost the door-closed signal while running. Either the door actually opened, the latch failed, or the lock switch is intermittent.

Symptoms

  • Cycle pauses with E43
  • Door appears closed but washer thinks it's open
  • Resumes briefly then errors again

Common Causes

Door not fully latched

Laundry or boot bunching prevents full closure — most common.

How to Fix It

  1. Open the door, clear any laundry from the door boot, and firmly re-close.
  2. Check that the rubber door boot isn't folded into the seal.
  3. Inspect the door strike for wear or damage.
  4. Lift the door slightly while closing — if that fixes it, hinges are sagging.
  5. If the issue persists, replace the door lock/switch assembly.
