What E31 Means

- Overfilling or underfilling
- E31 displayed
- Washer reports wrong load size
Common Causes
Soap scum or sludge in the clear hose from tub to sensor.
Sensor on the control or near the top of the cabinet has drifted or failed.
Connector backed out or corroded.
How to Fix It
- Unplug the washer.
- Locate the pressure switch / sensor (top of cabinet on most GE front-loaders).
- Pull the clear air-dome hose, blow it out, check for blockage.
- Reseat the harness connector on the sensor.
- If E31 returns, replace the pressure sensor.
- If still failing, replace the main control board.
