What E501 Means

The control is reading the meat probe jack as out of range. Code is common when the probe is plugged in but damaged, or when food residue has shorted the jack.

Symptoms

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug the meat probe — if E501 clears, the probe itself is the most likely cause.

  3. Clean the jack with a dry cotton swab and a shot of contact cleaner; let dry fully before powering back on.
  4. Re-test with a known-good Bosch probe.
  5. If E501 persists with no probe inserted, the jack/harness or control input is bad.
