Bosch Dryer F02 — Water Container / Drain Tank Fault

Bosch Dryer · Error code F02

What F02 Means

On some Bosch dryer models, F02 indicates the condensate tank needs emptying or the float sensor is not detecting tank presence.

Symptoms

  • Cycle pauses mid-program
  • Tank indicator illuminated
  • Cycle won't restart until reset
  • F02 appears repeatedly

Common Causes

1
Condensate tank full

Normal — empty after 1-2 cycles.

2
Tank not seated correctly

Tank must click into position for float switch to register.

3
Float stuck in tank

Float can stick after long periods of disuse.

4
Failed reed/float switch

Magnetic float sensor has failed.

How to Fix It

  1. Open the top panel or front access where the condensate tank is located.
  2. Slide out the tank and empty completely.
  3. Rinse the tank with water and verify the float inside moves freely.
  4. Reinstall the tank firmly until it clicks into place.
  5. Press Start to resume the cycle.
  6. If error persists, inspect the float switch in the tank cavity and replace if failed.
