What E01 Means

Control board has detected a fault in the heating circuit — either a stuck heater relay on the main board or an open heating element. Dryer will tumble but produce no heat.

  • E01 displayed at end of cycle

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug the dryer and wait 5 minutes before any service work.
  2. Pull the dryer out and inspect the vent hose and exterior vent for lint blockage — restricted airflow is the #1 root cause.
  3. Remove the back panel and locate the heater assembly (tall metal housing at the rear).
  4. Test the heating element across its terminals with a multimeter — should read roughly 10-15 ohms; OL means it's open and must be replaced.
  5. Test the thermal fuse and high-limit thermostat for continuity — replace any that read open.
  6. Inspect the heater terminal connectors for heat damage, melting, or carbon — replace the wire pigtail if scorched.
  7. If element and safety devices test good, the heater relay on the main control board has likely failed — replace the control module.
  8. Reassemble, restore power, and run a timed dry cycle to verify heat returns within 2 minutes.
