F70 Moderate Easy DIY

Maytag Dryer F70 — WiFi / Connectivity Fault

Maytag Dryer · Error code F70

What F70 Means

On smart Maytag models, the dryer cannot communicate with the home WiFi router or the cloud. The dryer will still operate normally; only remote features are affected.

Symptoms

  • F70 displayed
  • Remote start unavailable
  • App shows dryer offline
  • WiFi icon off

Common Causes

1
Router offline or out of range

Most common — Wi-Fi signal too weak at the laundry room.

2
Wi-Fi password changed

Dryer credentials no longer valid.

3
2.4 GHz band disabled

Dryer needs 2.4 GHz; 5 GHz-only setups won't work.

4
Failed Wi-Fi module on the dryer

Less common hardware failure.

How to Fix It

  1. Verify the home Wi-Fi router is on and the network name/password haven't changed.
  2. Confirm 2.4 GHz band is broadcasting (separate SSID or mixed-band).
  3. On the dryer, follow the Maytag/Whirlpool app prompts to re-pair via the Wi-Fi/Connect button.
  4. If the dryer can't see networks at all, unplug the dryer for 1 minute and retry pairing.
  5. If still failing, replace the Wi-Fi module/communication board.
  6. Confirm operation by issuing a Remote Start from the app.
