Keurig Coffee Maker Partial Brew — short cup volume
Keurig Coffee Maker · Error code Partial Brew
What Partial Brew Means
The brewer completes a cycle but dispenses less than the selected cup size. Almost always caused by clogged needles or scale restricting flow — not a hardware fault.
Symptoms
- Cup volume less than selected size
- Brew cycle ends early
- Coffee comes out slowly
- Coffee grounds in the cup
Common Causes
Pod grounds blocking the bottom puncture needle
Coffee residue in the upper needle
Reduced flow through heater and tubing
Vibratory pump losing pressure with age
How to Fix It
- Lift the handle and remove the pod
- Straighten a paper clip and insert into each of the three holes on the exit needle to clear grounds
- Insert the paper clip into the upper entrance needle (carefully — it's sharp)
- Wipe the pod holder and reinstall
- Run two water-only brew cycles to flush debris
- If volume is still short, descale the unit
