iRobot Robot Vacuum Error 10 — Drive wheel not turning

iRobot Robot Vacuum · Error code Error 10

What Error 10 Means

One drive wheel isn't turning at all — usually completely jammed or wheel motor has failed.

Symptoms

  • 'Error 10' voice prompt
  • Robot pivots in place or won't move
  • One wheel completely stationary when CLEAN is pressed

Common Causes

1
Severe debris jam in wheel

Heavy hair/cord wrap or large debris completely blocking wheel rotation.

2
Wheel module gearbox seized

Internal gears stripped or jammed.

3
Failed wheel motor

Motor windings burned out — wheel won't turn even with no load.

How to Fix It

  1. Flip robot over and thoroughly clean both wheel axles and treads.
  2. Try to spin each wheel by hand — both should turn with equal moderate resistance.
  3. If one wheel is much harder to turn or completely locked, that module is failed.
  4. Replace the affected wheel module (sold as a complete assembly).
