What F3 -E0 Means

On newer GE Profile and Advantium models the F3 fault is extended with an E-code. F3-E0 specifically calls out a shorted key or keypad-to-control short. Cooking is blocked until cleared.

  • Keypad won't respond
  • Code returns immediately after power cycle

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug the microwave for 5 minutes.
  2. Restore power — if F3-E0 returns immediately, the short is permanent.
  3. Unplug again and disconnect the keypad ribbon from the control board.
  4. Power up briefly — if the code changes to a 'no keypad' fault, the keypad is the problem.
  5. Replace the membrane touch panel with the OEM part.
