Frigidaire Oven F92 — Lock Switch Stuck

Frigidaire Oven · Error code F92

What F92 Means

The latch microswitch is reading locked when the control did not command lock, or vice versa. The control refuses to operate until the contradiction clears.

Symptoms

  • F92 at idle, not during cleaning
  • Oven won't bake or broil
  • Door reports locked when it's clearly open

Common Causes

1
Stuck or shorted lock microswitch

Contacts welded closed or actuator tab bent.

2
Broken latch cam

Cam jammed in the lock position.

3
Pinched harness shorting the switch wire

Wire grounded against sheet metal.

How to Fix It

  1. Power off.
  2. Remove the top panel and inspect the latch — manually move it to the unlocked position.
  3. Test each microswitch with a meter for proper open/close as the cam moves.
  4. Replace the door lock assembly if any switch fails the test.
  5. Reroute or repair any chafed harness wiring near the latch.
