Frigidaire Oven F7 — Function Key / Stuck Touchpad Button

Frigidaire Oven · Error code F7

What F7 Means

The control sees a key on the touchpad held down for more than the allowed period at power-up. It refuses to enter normal operation until the input clears.

Symptoms

  • F7 continuously on display
  • Beeper sounds repeatedly
  • Pressing keys does nothing or feels sticky

Common Causes

1
Stuck membrane switch

A button is physically depressed or contaminated, holding contacts closed.

2
Moisture or grease under the touchpad

Conductive film closing a switch.

3
Failed touchpad / overlay

Membrane has degraded internally.

4
Failed EOC

Input circuit reading a phantom key press.

How to Fix It

  1. Cut power for 5 minutes, then restore — sometimes clears a one-off glitch.
  2. Inspect the touchpad for swelling, grease, or visibly depressed buttons. Clean gently with a damp cloth.
  3. Disconnect the touchpad ribbon at the EOC and restore power. If F7 clears, replace the touchpad.
  4. If F7 persists with the touchpad disconnected, replace the EOC.
