What E6 Means

The user interface (display board) cannot communicate with the main control board over the internal data bus. Settings may not save and the unit can fall back to a default cooling profile.

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug the unit for 5 minutes and power back up.
  2. Pull the toe-kick or rear access cover to inspect the main board ribbon cable; reseat both ends.
  3. On French-door models, inspect the hinge wiring channel for chafe or moisture.
  4. Swap the user interface board if reseating does not clear the fault.
  5. If a known-good UI does not clear it, replace the main control board.
