What E16 Means

The control sees water entering the tub when the cycle is not commanding a fill. The inlet valve is leaking water through.

Symptoms

  • Water in tub before cycle starts
  • Drain pump runs at start of cycle
  • E16 appears when door opened

How to Fix It

  1. Shut off the water at the supply valve under the sink.
  2. Power off at the breaker.
  3. Drain any water from the tub (run a manual drain or sponge it out).
  4. Replace the AquaStop inlet hose assembly (contains the safety valve).
  5. Inspect the tub-side inlet valve and replace if it leaks through.
  6. Restore water and power; verify no fill occurs with the door open.
