What E05 Means
The anti-flood float in the base of the dishwasher has risen, triggering the safety drain. Water level higher than expected.

Diagnose first: Inlet valve diaphragm worn and not closing fully; pressure switch can also misread level.

Symptoms
- Drain pump runs continuously
- Cycle will not start
- Water visible in base pan
Common Causes
Door seal, hose clamp, or sump leaking into the base pan.
Solenoid fails to close, overfilling the tub.
Debris under the foam float in the base.
Slow drain causing back-up that triggers the float.
How to Fix It
- Power off the dishwasher at the breaker.
- Tilt the unit forward gently and let any water in the base pan drain into a towel.
- Inspect the base pan for the source of the leak.
- Check the foam float in the base for free movement.
- Test the inlet valve by listening for it to close at end of fill; replace if stuck.
- Restore power and run a Rinse cycle to verify.
