LoC Minor Easy DIY
Whirlpool Washer LoC / LC — Control Lock Active
Whirlpool Washer · Error code LoC
What LoC Means
The Control Lock (child lock) feature is on. Button presses are ignored intentionally until you turn the lock off.
Symptoms
- 'LoC' or 'LC' shown
- Buttons don't respond
- Lock icon lit on the display
- Cycle won't start
Common Causes
1
Control Lock enabled
Either toggled on intentionally or hit by accident.
2
Stuck control lock button
If the lock keeps re-enabling itself after you clear it, the button is stuck — see F2E1.
How to Fix It
- Press and hold the Control Lock button (or the button marked with a key icon) for 3-5 seconds until LoC disappears.
- On some models the lock toggle is a long-press of a specific cycle button — check the control panel printing.
- If LoC won't clear, unplug for 5 minutes and try again.
- If LoC re-enables itself constantly, suspect a stuck panel button (F2E1).
