What Error 8 Means
The robot is physically stuck — pinned under furniture, tangled in cords, or boxed in by obstacles it can't navigate around.
Symptoms
- Voice prompt 'Please move robot to a new location and restart'
- App shows Error 8
- Robot stops mid-clean and won't resume
- Robot found wedged under furniture
Common Causes
Robot wedged into a tight space slightly shorter than its height.
Power cables, charging cords, or rug fringe tangled.
Surroundings changed during the run, leaving no exit path.
Robot high-centered on an obstacle.
How to Fix It
- Pick the robot up from where it is stuck.
- Untangle any cords or fringe from the wheels and brushes.
- Set up virtual no-go zones around problem areas in the Roborock app.
- Use cable management to keep cords off the floor.
- Place the robot back on its dock and resume cleaning.
