Roborock Robot Vacuum Error 23 — Dock locator beacon issue

Roborock Robot Vacuum · Error code Error 23

What Error 23 Means

The signal from the dock that guides the robot home is being received incorrectly — usually dock placement/blockage, sometimes a dock transmitter fault.

Symptoms

  • Voice prompt 'Please make sure the home base signal-emitting area is clean'
  • App shows Error 23
  • Robot circles dock but won't dock

Common Causes

1
Dock against a mirror or glass

Reflective surfaces scatter the IR beacon.

2
Dock front panel dirty

Dust on the emitter window.

3
Sunlight saturating IR receiver

Direct sunlight near dock confuses the IR docking sequence.

4
Dock electronics fault

Failed IR emitter board on the dock.

How to Fix It

  1. Wipe the front of the dock with a dry cloth.
  2. Relocate the dock away from mirrors, glass, and direct sunlight.
  3. Give the dock 1.5 feet clearance on each side and 5 feet in front.
  4. Power-cycle the dock by unplugging it for 30 seconds.
  5. If the issue persists in a good location, the dock IR board has failed — replace the dock.
