What Error 2 Means
The front bumper is jammed in the pressed position. The robot thinks it is continuously hitting something and stops.
Symptoms
- Robot stops and announces 'Bumper is stuck, please tap'
- App shows Error 2
- Front bumper does not visibly spring back
- Robot won't start a clean
Common Causes
Small toys, pet food, or pebbles can lodge between the bumper and chassis.
Fine dust accumulates around the bumper hinges.
After a hard collision the bumper can dislodge from its mounting clips.
Microswitch behind the bumper stuck closed.
How to Fix It
- Tap the front bumper firmly several times to dislodge debris.
- Look around the perimeter of the bumper for visible obstructions and remove them.
- Wipe the gap between the bumper and chassis with a dry cloth or soft brush.
- Lift one edge of the bumper gently to reseat it on its rails if loose.
- Place the robot on a flat surface and restart cleaning.
- If still stuck, the bumper assembly may need service.
