What Error 2 Means

The front bumper is jammed in the pressed position. The robot thinks it is continuously hitting something and stops.

Symptoms

  • Robot stops and announces 'Bumper is stuck, please tap'
  • App shows Error 2
  • Front bumper does not visibly spring back
  • Robot won't start a clean

Common Causes

Debris wedged behind the bumper

Small toys, pet food, or pebbles can lodge between the bumper and chassis.

Fine dust accumulates around the bumper hinges.

After a hard collision the bumper can dislodge from its mounting clips.

Bumper switch failure

Microswitch behind the bumper stuck closed.

How to Fix It

  1. Tap the front bumper firmly several times to dislodge debris.
  2. Look around the perimeter of the bumper for visible obstructions and remove them.
  3. Wipe the gap between the bumper and chassis with a dry cloth or soft brush.
  4. Lift one edge of the bumper gently to reseat it on its rails if loose.
  5. Place the robot on a flat surface and restart cleaning.
  6. If still stuck, the bumper assembly may need service.
