Maytag Oven F3E0 — Oven Temperature Sensor Open

Maytag Oven · Error code F3E0

What F3E0 Means

The oven temperature sensor (RTD) circuit is open. The control cannot read cavity temperature and shuts heating down.

Symptoms

  • F3E0 on display
  • Oven will not heat
  • Code appears shortly after starting bake

Common Causes

1
Failed oven temperature sensor

The RTD probe has gone open-circuit (should read ~1080 ohms at room temp).

2
Broken / disconnected sensor harness

Wire to the sensor at the rear of the cavity is unplugged or chafed.

3
Failed EOC

Control board sensor input is bad.

How to Fix It

  1. Disconnect power.
  2. Remove the rear access panel and locate the oven temp sensor harness.
  3. Unplug the sensor and measure resistance — should be ~1080 ohms at room temperature.
  4. If open or far out of spec, replace the temperature sensor.
  5. If sensor reads correctly, inspect the harness from sensor to EOC for breaks.
  6. If harness and sensor are good, replace the EOC.
