LG Oven F27 — Cooling fan stalled during self-clean
LG Oven · Error code F27
What F27 Means
The cooling fan (which protects the controls during self-clean) is not detected running for more than one minute, so the control aborts the cycle and locks out further heat until cleared.
Symptoms
- F27 or F-27 on display during or after self-clean
- Oven exterior or control panel got unusually hot
- No fan noise from the top vent
- Self-clean cancels partway through
Common Causes
Bearings or motor windings failed.
Insulation or debris jammed the blade.
Connector dropped voltage.
Board commands fan on but contacts never close.
How to Fix It
- Let the oven cool fully — the cavity can stay over 500°F well after F27 trips.
- Power off at the breaker for 60 seconds.
- Pull the top control panel/back panel and locate the cooling fan; verify the blade spins freely with no obstructions.
- Reseat the fan harness at the fan and at the main PCB.
- With power restored and the oven calling for the fan, measure voltage at the fan plug; if voltage is present and the fan does not run, replace the cooling fan motor.
- If no voltage at the fan plug, replace the main control board.
