GE Oven F30 — Open Probe / Meat Probe Circuit

GE Oven · Error code F30

What F30 Means

The control detects an open circuit in the meat probe jack or its sensor. Probe cooking modes are disabled.

Symptoms

  • F30 when probe is plugged in
  • Probe mode unavailable
  • Probe temperature reads dashes

Common Causes

1
Failed meat probe

Internal RTD open.

2
Corroded or damaged probe jack

Jack inside the cavity wall fails to make contact.

3
Broken wiring from jack to control

Harness damaged behind the cavity wall.

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug the probe and verify F30 clears. If yes, replace the probe.
  2. If F30 persists with no probe plugged in, the jack or wiring is shorted — power down and inspect.
  3. Access the probe jack from the rear of the oven, check for corrosion or broken pins.
  4. Test continuity of the harness from jack to control board.
  5. Replace the jack or harness as needed; replace the control board if input circuit is dead.
