What E02 Means

The control detects an abnormal current or tachometer signal from the drive motor. The drum will not spin or spins erratically.

Worn motor carbon brushes

Common after 8-10 years; brushes wear below minimum length.

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug the washer and rotate the drum by hand — it should spin freely.
  2. Remove the rear access panel to expose the motor.
  3. Inspect carbon brushes; replace as a pair if under 8 mm long.
  4. Check the tachometer coil resistance (typically ~70 ohms).
  5. Reseat all motor connectors and check for burnt pins.
  6. Test motor windings; replace the motor if shorted.
  7. If motor tests good, replace the motor control board.
